23-year-old shot, killed at El Rey nightclub in Durham

Several police cars and dozens of officers rushed to the scene of El Rey nightclub in Durham early Sunday morning.

DURHAM, N.C. — One man was shot and killed at El Rey nightclub and bar in Durham early Sunday morning.

The nightclub is in a popular area of Durham on Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard, near the restaurant and bar Namu and Sister Lui's Kitchen.

The man killed was identified as Guadalupe Ordonez-Alejandro, 23, from Durham.

Video sent to WRAL News shows people crying as a police line is being set up.

When emergency responders arrived at the nightclub, they found that the man was already dead.

Police said that the shooting does not appear to be random.

Because it is an active investigation, police said they would not be providing any further information to the public.
