Young dancer, family member killed in Wake Forest crash

Authorities responded to the crash in front of Grace Assembly Church at 2400 Wait Avenue at about 6 p.m.

WAKE FOREST, N.C. — One child and one adult were killed and several others were hospitalized in a Monday evening crash in Wake Forest.

Authorities said Jessie Sanders, 44, of Wendell, was driving a 2000 International truck on N.C. Highway 98 near Rolesville when he crossed the center line and collided with a 2007 Hyundai minivan. Two people in the minivan died in the accident.

Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Renee Lynn Stokes, 33, of Wilson, was driving the Hyundai at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at WakeMed. Angela Rebollar, 14, of Louisburg, died at the scene.

Rebollar, who was known as "Angel," and had a passion for dance, was a member of the dance company at The Dance Attic in Wake Forest. The owner of the studio said she always had a "smile and was so positive."

Debra Desha, 61, Seth Stokes, 3 months, Issac Stokes, 10, Elijah Stokes, 5, Crystal Rebollar, 10, were also in the minivan. On Tuesday afternoon, Debra Stokes was listed in fair condition and Crystal Rebollar was listed in good condition at WakeMed.

The investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending, troopers said.
