FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A woman has died following a shooting that occurred Saturday in a Fayetteville home.

Around 10:30 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a shooting at a home along the 500 block of Stevens Street.

Quincetta Daniels, 26, of Hope Mills, was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with a gunshot wound, but she died at the hospital.

A short time later, Gwendolyn Womack, 50, of Fayetteville, arrived at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating the shooting. The preliminary investigation suggests this was not a random incident.
