1 dead, 1 injured in separate Raleigh shootings less than 10 miles apart

The Raleigh Police Department said Saturday it is investigating two shootings that occurred less than 10 miles and 15 minutes apart.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Raleigh Police Department said Saturday it is investigating two shootings that occurred less than 10 miles and 15 minutes apart.

Raleigh police said the two shootings are not related.

According to Raleigh police, officers responded to the first shooting in the 2800 block of Laodicea Drive around 2:15 p.m. Police confirmed the man shot on Laodicea Drive has died from the injuries.

Sunday, police said they have charged 32-year-old Caleb D'angleo Williams with murder, possession of firearm by a felon, and assault by pointing a gun in connection with the fatal shooting on Laodicea Drive.

The second shooting occurred a short distance away in the 6200 block of Battle Bridge Road outside of a CVS around 2:30 p.m. Police said a woman was transported to the hospital with serious injures after the Battle Bridge Road shooting.

35-year-old Tiffany Latoya Jackson has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in connection with the Battle Bridge Road shooting.

Both suspects are currently being held at the Wake County Detention Center.

Officials said officers and detectives are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances of the incidents.
