DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting last month of a man sitting on his front porch, police said.

Officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 1100 block of South Hover Road on Nov. 14 and found a 22-year-old man who had been shot multiple times.

The man had been sitting on a porch when several men dressed in black approached him and fired several shots, police said.

Daiquan Lee McCallum, 20, was arrested in the 300 block of Avon Lake Drive and charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. He was being held at the Durham County Jail on Tuesday evening.

Authorities are seeking the public’s help to find Hashiem Smith, 20 and Brandon Perry, 21, who are both wanted on a charge of attempted first-degree murder in connection with the incident. Smith is also wanted for a felony probation violation, police said. Police have not disclosed a motive in the shooting.

Durham police responded to a similar incident on Nov. 12, in which a man walked up to a 38-year-old man standing on his front porch in the 400 block of S. Driver Street and “started shooting.”

Authorities did not say if the two incidents are related.

Anybody with information is asked to call Durham police at 919-560-4281 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
