1,000 boots needed to honor Fort Bragg fallen heroes
Fort Bragg Survivor Outreach Services is asking for boot donations for a memorial display in August.
of august about 7500 boots will be on display and they represent every single member of the military who died in wars since 9 11. They will be part of the very moving run honor. Remember five K at Fort Bragg. Wrl Gilbert Bay shows us how you can donate the 1000 boots needed to build this poignant display. Yeah, right. Fort Bragg is getting ready to have a very special event, but the need your help. They need 1000 boots that will represent the 7500 service members who have died since 9 11. And one of them is Chief Warrant Officer Stanley Harriman, What a sweet, sweet, gentle man. Chief Warrant Officer Stanley Harriman was one of the first Fort Bragg soldiers killed in Afghanistan in 2002. His picture is on the wall of Heroes inside the survivor outreach service centre on post on august 28th. A boot with his name. Picture dog tags and an american flag will be one of about 7500 on display at Hendrick Stadium. The boots represent those who gave their all in the fight against terrorism since 9 11. I'm so grateful for each and every one of them that that have made the ultimate sacrifice. We should all be grateful. We should all be grateful for what they've done for us. Joey boley was three years old when an explosive device killed her father in Afghanistan. She plans to decorate this boot in his honor and memory and place it on the field. We've lost so much what we've gotten so far. But if we didn't have to lose those lives, but we did because freedom is not free. Freedom is a sacrifice of our fallen troops. Any style military boot in presentable condition can be donated. The reason why we need them is about two years ago we had to kind of deplete our inventory because the boots were moldy and some of the rubber heels and stuff like that had dry rotted due to extreme temperatures. So time is running out to make the donation. That's august 13th. That's when you have to have the boots in. Go to w r e o dot com at the end of the story. For information on how to make that donation at Fort Bragg Gilbert bays WRL News.
