A power outage in Cary knocked about 1,000 customers offline for about an hour Thursday morning, including Panther Creek and Green Hope high schools and Green Hope and Carpenter elementary schools.

A power outage in Cary knocked about 1,000 customers offline for about an hour Thursday morning, including Panther Creek and Green Hope high schools and Green Hope and Carpenter elementary schools.

The school district posted about the outage on its website, saying parents should not expect that school would be dismissed.

Power was restored by about 11 a.m.
