FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police on Wednesday arrested a South Carolina man who was recently featured on the "America's Most Wanted" television show in connection with an armored truck robbery.

Dominic La Shaun Lyde, 22, of Darlington, S.C., was wanted out of Richland County, S.C. in the May 2007 robbery of an Express Teller Armored Truck. More than $9 million was stolen in the heist, making it the third-largest armored truck robbery in U. S. history.

Lyde is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping and assault and battery. He was featured on "America’s Most Wanted" in December.

Fayetteville Police Sgt. Tracy Campbell was investigating a vehicle theft and domestic assault and stopped at the Coliseum Inn on U.S. Highway 301 and detained a suspect. A stolen handgun was recovered from the room.

Lyde was in the Cumberland County Detention Center on Thursday awaiting extradition to South Carolina.

Only half of the stolen money has been recovered. Five other suspects in the robbery were arrested previously.
