'I don't feel that way:' Neighbors upset about 'kill all cops' sign along Moore County road

Vass, N.C. — A sign displaying a message of hate against police officers in Moore County is causing concern among neighbors.
There’s no mistaking the message of the sign, that reads “kill all cops” in red, white and blue colors over a black-and-white flag.
The sign is set back from a rural road in Vass, on a piece of land that reads ‘private property, no trespassing,”
Sandy Paula hasn’t seen the sign, but lives in the neighborhood and was outraged when she learned about it.
“Right away, it infuriates me because, first of all, it looks like, in a way, it’s speaking for everybody in the neighborhood and I don’t feel that way,” she said.
Neighbors said the sign has been up for at least a month, if not longer.
Chris Smith, who displays an American flag in his yard, isn’t happy about the sign, but recognizes the person’s right to put it up.
“It’s freedom of speech. I don’t agree with it. I, as they say, back the blue,” Smith said.
Other neighbors, however, are not so understanding. They believe there is no place for the sign in their community.
“I just don’t really know who would do that,” neighbor Ingrid Bullen said. “I don’t know who would do that over there. It just makes me wonder.”
Nobody knows who put up the sign, but WRAL News is working to learn who owns the property displaying the message that seems to threaten the law enforcement community.
Nobody answered the door at the home adjacent to the sign and authorities in Moore County said they are aware of the sign.
