Deputies investigating shooting at Raleigh gun shop
The Wake County Sheriff's Office was investigating a shooting at a privately owned gun shop Tuesday afternoon after an attempted robbery led to an exchange of gunfire.
Posted — UpdatedAuthorities said that two men attempted to enter and rob Jim’s Gun Shop at 609 Woodland Road just after 4:30 p.m.. The men thought nobody was inside the business, which is in the back of what appears to be a home.
Sheriff Donnie Harrison said one employee and one customer in the store saw the two men go by the window through a carport.
Several minutes later, the two men attempted to come in through a door. A struggle ensued and the employee fired on one of the men, Harrison said. Authorities were not sure if the suspect suffered gunshot wounds.
The two men fled the scene in a green sedan. Authorities did not release a description of the men.
Authorities said the men should be considered armed and dangerous.
