CARY, N.C. — Cary police say they've increased their presence at Bond Park after two callers reported suspicious people in the park in May.

According to officers, a call came in last week from a family who said a strange man in the park made a threatening comment to them. Another caller told police that they'd seen someone they weren't comfortable with in the park a week before that.

Police say the callers offered different descriptions of the individual they saw.

A comment posted May 21 on the NextDoor app titled "Creep at Bond Park" read:

"I wanted to let you all know what happened while my husband was taking our 1 year old on a walk at Bond Park yesterday.

At 9:00 a.m. they were walking on the paved path when a man was walking in the other direction that gave my husband a strange feeling.

Once he got near my husband and baby he said, "What would you do if I ripped your baby's head off?"

My husband responded with a promise, not a threat, and then kept walking and called the police. The man laughed and then kept walking the other direction. The police said they had received a couple more calls since being on the phone with my husband about the same man."

Police say no other suspicious activity has been reported at the park this week.
