RALEIGH, N.C. — An 'aggressive fox' that was killed Monday tested positive for rabies, according to Raleigh police.

On Sunday, officers responded to the 200 block of Lynwood Lane, off Six Forks Road, in response to a report of an aggressive fox that had bitten one person and attacked a cat.

On Monday, a construction worker killed an aggressive fox that then tested positive for rabies.

"The two locations are about a half-mile apart. It is not possible to determine if the fox killed on July 27 is the same one involved in the July 26 incident," police said.

Residents with animal concerns are urged to contact city officials at (919) 831-6311.
