Authorities are investigating after a woman was shot and killed Monday night at her home.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities are investigating after a woman was shot and killed Monday night at her home.

Fayetteville police said officers responded to the 1600 block of Slater Avenue at about 9:45 p.m. in response to a shooting.

Authorities said an unidentified suspect approached the victim, identified as 28-year-old Nekeshia D. Washington, produced a handgun and shot her before fleeing the area.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.
