Horse found shot to death in Zebulon pasture

Zebulon — A Wake County equestrian community is worried someone might be targeting their horses after a 15-year-old Apaloosa was shot and killed a few days ago in a pasture along Mitchell Mill Road in Zebulon, N.C.
Residents in the area told WRAL News Monday that they are installing surveillance cameras and looking at other possible security measures.
This is not the first time horses in the area have been attacked. Last year, six horses in nearby pastures were stabbed. All of those horses recovered from their injuries.
Wake County sheriff's investigators said Monday they don't know yet if the latest case is related to last year's. Both are under investigation.
