RALEIGH, N.C. — A Zebulon man was sentenced Thursday to at least six years in prison for terrorizing and sexually assaulting a woman three years ago.

Michael Allyn Gall, 36, of 251 Yellow Belle Court, pleaded guilty to breaking and entering, second-degree kidnapping, second-degree rape and second-degree sexual offense. He was sentenced to 73 to 149 months in prison, and a second sentence of 25 to 42 months in prison was suspended to three years on probation.

Police said Gall broke in to a woman's apartment in September 2013, threatened her with a large hunting knife, tied her up and sexually assaulted her. He later untied her, and she escaped.

After authorities found Gall's car in rural Franklin County, he was taken into custody following a four-hour manhunt in a wooded, swampy area.
