Zaver digital coupon portal shutting down

Posted June 5, 2014

Harris Teeter

Heads up! The Zaver digital coupon portal used by Harris Teeter is shutting down. According to a recent article on, Google has not offered a specific shut down date but indicated that it will take place in the next few months.  I did e-mail my Harris Teeter corporate contact to ask her if they had a time frame for shut down and whether they were going to replace the ZVR coupons with another option. She responded that they also just found out about it and they are looking at options now.

Kroger, the parent company of Harris Teeter, does not use Zavers as their digital coupon platform. Their digital platform is from You Technology , which was recently bought out by Kroger. Harris Teeter may begin using that same platform at some time after the Zavers coupon portal shuts down, but we will just have to wait and see. As most of you know, Kroger does not allow customers to use a digital coupon and a paper manufacturer coupon on the same item, as Harris Teeter does. I am going to venture a guess that our days of stacking digital and paper coupons at Harris Teeter are coming to an end.

As I find out more information, I will let you know.  Until then, let's save as much as we can with those ZVR's!

well, with this going on...Lowes foods and Target are getting more and more attractive. Lowes does have the double coupons and coupons on line to use...and Target has so many forms of coupons that you can stack now that it's fun shopping there now!

ZVR's tend to be a pain... they are great when they work as they are supposed to, but I've had a lot of problems with them.

Wonder when the next super doubles will be... we are way overdue for one. I was loving the once every 4 weeks

I really hate this! I just started couponing in February and it seems like it's dissipating quickly for me at HT! I really hope their whole process of operating doesn't completely exemplify Kroger. I don't shop there. :( Oh well, I guess it truly was good while it lasted!

    Adapt & Overcome, I guess??

Considering HT is now owned by Kroger, I doubt that they will replace the Z coupons. I've been to my HT at Cam Village three times in the last 2 weeks where the lines were outrageous. I called the manager the 3rd time, and he regretted that there were not open lanes at the front (It was like a Walmart front end these 3 times) and I specifically asked him if customers should expect this since Kroger is now the owner. He hesitated and replied, I will do everything I can as manager to try to keep the same front end service we have had in the past.

SO SAD! That's what made so many items free during SD's. But let's stay positive and fingers crossed something else is in the pipeline.
