A volunteer for the Christian youth group Youth for Christ in Roxboro faces felony charges after he was accused this week of inappropriately touching a girl.

David Neely Solomon, 38, of 641 Surl Mount Tirzah Road in Timberlake, was arrested Tuesday on felony charges of soliciting a child by computer and statutory rape/sex offense of a child under age 14.

Person County Sheriff Dewey Jones said deputies received a complaint on Tuesday from the girl's mother after she found inappropriate material on her daughter's phone.

Solomon was arrested after investigators interviewed him and the girl.

Jones did not say if the girl is involved with Youth for Christ but said the alleged crimes did not happen at the organization's Roxboro office.

Solomon was jailed under a $400,000 bond, but the bond was reduced Thursday to $150,000.

lwe1967 - You have seen the stories of the grown women in teaching and leadership roles charged with having sex with underaged boys as well, have you not? Equality goes further than you think.

Actually, I agree with Barfly. "Religion" is a great racket, which is why Christ didn't like it. However, I'd recommend he/she look more into the concept of "free will" before dismissing "the invisible sky spirit", especially since the God I know isn't limited to the "sky".

Lecerous, odious male! What is a matter with people? No standards who so ever!

This has nothing to do with religion. Pervs tend to hide out in places they'll have access to children and generate less suspicion i.e. a youth ministry.

It is possible he was wrongly accused but with legal interview and decision it seems he may have done something inappropriate. Another black eye for religion.
