Your guide to Raleigh's First Friday

We compiled a list of some of the First Friday events going on July 1, 2016.

First Friday
RALEIGH, N.C. — It only happens once a month, but First Friday is a great way to see and experience downtown Raleigh. The next First Friday event is this Friday, July 1.

Events run from 6-9 p.m., unless otherwise noted, and involve tons of galleries, restaurants and other venues in downtown Raleigh.

All places participating in First Friday will have flags outside.

Our Best Bets for this month's First Friday:
CAM Raleigh, downtown's contemporary art museum, is celebrating two new exhibitions this Friday. Starting at 4 p.m., the Martine Gutierrez: WE & THEM & ME exhibit will present three series of work through the media of photography, video and installation. Gutierrez acts as subject, artist and muse, documenting her personal transformation into various imagined roles.
Also at 4 p.m., see the 20 Years of Horse & Buggy Press, a multi-media, mid-career retrospective celebrating the award-winning, book production, graphic design and letterpress studio which got its start in Boylan Heights at Antfarm in 1996 and has been working out of downtown Durham since 2003. The exhibit will focus on the artistic book collaborations between Horse & Buggy Press and a diverse range of writers, photographers, visual artists and historians.

Both exhibitions are open until 10 p.m.

There are so many more First Friday events, we had to make a list of them all. Browse through the listings below:
