Car lovers - ages 6 to 15 - are encouraged to sign up to be a youth judge during the Wheels on Academy Car Show in Cary on May 16.
The Hagerty Youth Judging Program gives kids the chance to walk around the car show as a group to judge five to six pre-selected cars. At each car, the owners will talk about their car. The kids will have the opportunity to ask questions and judge the car like the other adult judges at the show. Each child also will get a T-shirt, pen and judging booklet to keep.
The program is 10 a.m. to noon, May 16. Only 15 spots are available for the program. Pre-registration is required. To sign up or to get more information, email Sarah.Hagan@townofcary.org by May 14.
The fourth annual Wheels on Academy runs form 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 16, along a portion of Academy Street around the Cary Town Hall campus. The free event includes Take-Apart Model T Demonstrations at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.; a children's crafts area where kids can make their own wooden cars and race them down a car ramp; a Touch the Truck with various vehicles to explore; live entertainment; concessions and other activities.
