Wrecks closes lanes of I-95 South

Posted October 31, 2011

— All lanes of Interstate 95 southbound were closed for about two hours Monday as rescue crews and law enforcement responded to a wreck in which a vehicle ran off the road.

A 12-mile stretch of highway, between Exit 119 (U.S. Highway 264) and Exit 107 (U.S. Highway 301) was closed and traffic backed up for miles at about noon.

The lanes were re-opened by 1:30 p.m., but the back-up took longer to unwind.

@ Bart .... after you pass exit 119, exit 107 is the very next exit. Between the two, there is nothing there but trees.

Why do they have to close 12 miles of Interstate for a single car wreck? I95 is always backed up with delays, wrecks, etc. I hate traveling that road.

I haven't seen anything on the shooting of the lady in Lumberton traveling on I-95. Supposedly there is a manhunt underway for someone who shot at her or other vehicles on I-95 but no details.
