— One person died Monday morning when a Stock Building Supply tractor-trailer truck overturned on westbound U.S. Highway 64 east of the Rolesville exit.

A spokesman for the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said the driver of the truck, Robert Earl Faison, 61, of 7916 New Sandy Hill Church Road in Bailey, died. He was the only one in the truck.

Troopers said the truck ran off the road to the right, struck some trees and flipped on its side, pinning the Faison inside.

Representatives of the Raleigh-based company arrived at the scene of the wreck and consulted with state troopers.

A woman at company headquarters said, "We are very upset about this tragedy," but did not offer additional details.

Saw this on the way in and immediately prayed for his family. I figured it was a man and the tarp covering the cab just stated the obvious. I feel so bad for his loved ones. Left for work and....well, R.I.P.

I saw this first thing this morning, and I don't think it matters where the wreck was, this man is no longer alive. It made me completely emotional and grateful for another day. Hold your loved ones close, and please be careful driving.

Sorry to hear someone lost their life in this.

When we were debating about trusses/planks and the location of Rolesville, this information was not in the story. They have been updating the story throughout the day as more has come available, and the comments just carried over.

I passed this wreck on my way to work; from what I could tell at the scene I figured there were no survivors. What a terrible time of year to lose a loved one (as if there's ever an ideal time, of course). So sorry for his family :( I hope he didn't suffer.

    Prayers for the mans family.

Folks, come on already, there are some families out there who will never look at Christmas the same, show some respect.

Is this really about the location? NO It's about a man that has lost his life. How inconsiderate can some people be!!

  • Whosays Dec 23, 2013

Oh so sorry for the families loss. Wow, right here at Christmas.

I drove by this right as first responders were getting there, its a scary sight to see a truck that big upside down. The cab was crushed, I knew somebody was dead inside, seemed impossible to survive it. Prayers to that guys family.

It is in unincorporated Wake County near the community of Lizard Lick. I think news sources pick a nearby town, if incident not in a town, for the byline. Both Knightdale and Wendell as well as
Zebulon are near by towns with POs to qualify.
