FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 32-year-old man was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Wednesday morning after a four-vehicle wreck on Interstate 95 North near Fayetteville, state Highway Patrol troopers said.

According to investigators, the man, whose name was not released, swerved his Pontiac Grand Prix to avoid hitting a Toyota Camry at about 10 a.m. Troopers said the Camry had slowed while traveling in the left lane after hitting tire debris.

After swerving to avoid the Camry, the Grand Prix sideswiped a commercial moving truck and came to a rest in the right lane. The Grand Prix was then hit by a tractor-trailer in the right lane.

Troopers said the man in the Grand Prix suffered head injuries in the wreck, but his condition was not immediately available.

Investigators closed all lanes of I-95 while they investigated the wreck, and the highway was reopened at about 11 a.m.
