The app, developed in partnership with Weather Decision Technologies (WDT), carries a one-time cost of $9.99.

More options for weather alerts

WRAL WeatherCall uses your street address and the national weather service alerts to determine whether your home or business is inside a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning area. You can assign up to three phone numbers per address. The cost is just $8 a year.

If you don't want to pay for alerts based on specific street address, you can sign up for free county-level e-mail alerts from

rdc42179, why not pull your rightwing attitude out of your bottom and leave at home for a while? it appears to be bothering you. Voter ID has nothing to do with money going into people's pockets. Using your perverted reasoning, WRAL shouldn't carry any advertising on any page that carries important information. Jiminy!

$9.95 for an App that provides weather alerts and radar maps available from many other apps that are free? Are you kidding. I think not!

Advice to WRAL - make the App free and put some advertising on it for revenue.

Well since WRAL is and always has been a liberal media, that doesn't support voter ID or other issues that they claim would limit access to minorities or low income. How is it ok for them to charge for what should be a public service. Quess it all depends on who's pocket its going in
