State of the State special

Tonight at 7 p.m., WRAL-TV will broadcast Gov. Bev Perdue’s State of the State address to the General Assembly.

WRAL’s David Crabtree will anchor the special coverage, with analysis by anchor/reporter Cullen Browder and Capitol Bureau Chief Laura Leslie.

The broadcast is expected to run one hour and will include the Republican response delivered by Sen. Phil Berger.

    Here we go once again. I bet that State employees are once again hung out to dry. NC DOT is busting their hind sides trying to keep the roads safe and in good condition but, when anything is cut it ends up being on their backs. They are treated like less than second class citizens. That is why I quit working for the state years ago. If one little pebble is out of place, people that haven't a clue, jump down their throats and talk trash about them. It doesn't matter that we have one of the finest road systems in the country. Hey, all of you complaining fools, take a ride out of state and look at what there is around us. I have talked with some that I used to work with and they are even more burdoned by what is expected of them. Their road maint. unit is currently 13 full time employees short and the temporary empolyees may soon get sent home. There is a hiring freeze. Out of a work unit that is suposed to have 56 people they may soon be reduced to under 30. I can bet you one thing....Th
