Basketball to bump prime programs

Posted February 10, 2010
Updated March 2, 2010

WRAL-TV will broadcast the ACC basketball match-up between Miami and North Carolina Tuesday night beginning at 8 p.m., preempting CBS prime time programming.

Tuesday's episode of NCIS can be seen Wednesday at approximately 2:07 a.m.

Tuesday's episode of NCIS: Los Angeles can be seen Wednesday at approximately 3:07 a.m.

The Good Wife and the WRAL News at 11 p.m.  will air in their entirety after basketball.

Due to the potential that live games run beyond the designated timeframe, viewers are advised to record the entire 2 to 5 a.m. time period Wednesday to ensure they record the programs in their entirety.

Captainsfan-- maybe before you correct someone you should look a little closer.the article was originally posted Feb.10,2010. That was the Duke v Carolina game. The article was just updated today because once again the game interrupted your regular viewing schedule.

I care neither for this game or NCIS, but geez people. Shows get pre-empted. The episodes are being aired for people to record.

I've had shows get pre-empted in the past with no late night airings offered. These shows will air again in reruns and again and again in syndication ad nauseum. They'll be on the internet and on DVD for purchase or rental. Options that in the past weren't always there.

Get over it and find something else to do. You'll survive. I always have. And even if I sound like it, I'm not an old man. I'm 32.

so much for those commericals bragging about the number 1 shows in America.

  • sunydaze Mar 2, 2010

burnhace- my understanding is that the station is only allowed to air the show one time and to air it on a sideband would prohibit them from airing it again thus keeping folks without digital from every being able to see it.

  • burnhace Mar 2, 2010

Why not broadcast the shows on a sideband?

so sick of this stuffrap... put basketball on at 2am

Last time (the only time) they aired the normal prime time line up on their secondary channel a bunch of people freaked out about it. This is their knee jerk reaction to that.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt anyone was mad that they were missing some 80's rerun. And when they move it to 2am I doubt anyone is mad about missing an infomercial. So why not do both? I personally don't watch NCIS much (I like it, I'm just not hooked), but I worry when decisions are made based on who screams the loudest.

WRAL did listen, there were a whole lot more that did NOT like the shows being moved to 5.2 than the 10 or so that are whining about it here. This only makes my decision easier, LOST is on from 8 till 10 also. I'll catch NCIS and NCIS LA online tomorrow morning while the morning news should be on. Lately the streaming newscast is offline more than it's online.

most important college rivalries in America....What? UNC/Miami is NOT a rivalry, and besides, no one wants to see UNC play this year anyway.

    xxxuhhmazinglovexxx AND foghat4545,
Perhaps you should actually read the article. Duke is not playing in this game. It is UNC versus Miami. Not exactly "one of the most important college rivalries in America" now is it?
