Music lovers joined WRAL-TV and the North Carolina Symphony for an evening of free, live entertainment and fun for the whole family.

WRAL's Pops in the Park concert was held Sunday evening at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park.

This year's guest artist was Legends of Beach, a group featuring five former members of The Embers, including Jackie Gore and Johnny Barker, who wrote the Embers' big hits “I Love Beach Music” and “Summertime’s Calling Me,” respectively.

Gates opened at 4:30 p.m. Pets were not allowed.

Concert-goers brought blankets, lawn chairs and picnics. Food was also available at the amphitheatre.

WRAL's Elizabeth Gardner hosted the afternoon entertainment with an excerpt from Wake County High Schools' "A Chorus Line" production. WRAL's Valonda Calloway hosted the Legends of Beach concert.

WRAL-TV will broadcast Pops in the Park on Monday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m, sponsored by Barton College and Capital Bank.
