Husband, wife divided over weather coverage

Posted Updated

Whenever WRAL breaks into regular programming to cover weather - such as tornadoes, snow, etc. – we typically receive lots of e-mails from viewers. Those e-mails usually fall into two categories:

1) Those who are upset that we cut off their favorite program, as was the case with The Amazing Race on Sunday night.

2) And those who thank us for providing up-to-the-minute weather coverage.

But yesterday, we received an e-mail about our tornado coverage that made me chuckle, and I just had to share it with you:

"I applaud your decision to cover the Tornado occurring in Zebulon last night. The coverage of life threatening events should always take precedence over any regular programming. My wife sent you an e-mail last night expressing her anger. Believe it or not, she did survive the night without watching the Amazing Race."

And there you have it – a house divided over our weather coverage. It's not every day that we get an e-mail like that :)
