We have an amazing promotions team here at WRAL, and their latest project is really impressive. Their task was to create a commercial to let viewers know about Team WRAL and the upcoming Komen N.C. Triangle Race for the Cure.

You can see three different versions of the commercial below and some behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot, courtesy of photographer Jeff Reeves. But before you watch the videos, I’ll let WRAL promotions producer Stacie Holyfield explain what went into this “BIG” shoot:

“So, this year for the Team WRAL/Komen shoot we decided to think BIG … literally. It sparked from an idea senior promotions producer Jay Yovanovich had about using a GIANT version on Komen's iconic ribbon.

WRAL creative director Shelly Leslie, digital media administrator Steve Elizondo, Jay and I brain-stormed and came up with the final concept. I was tapped as the producer/director & the others volunteered to help with the shoot. This was probably the most ambitious shoot we have ever undertaken! We had three cameras, blocked off a city street, and partnered with Komen to find 100+ volunteers!

Many of our extras were breast cancer survivors themselves, and it was such an honor to have them there. Everyone had such spirit and spunk! They made what could have been a bear of a shoot, a pleasure. It was a hard day's work, but it was all for a great cause. Join Team WRAL!!”
