CBS primetime programs move to accommodate NC State game

Published: 2012-01-18 19:30:49
Updated: 2012-01-18 19:30:49

When North Carolina State University takes on Boston College Thursday in an ACC basketball game, local Wolfpack fans can watch it on WRAL-TV. The game tips off at 8 p.m.

CBS primetime programming will be re-broadcast during the overnight hours, so that fans can record those shows. Here's the schedule:

  • The Big Bang Theory has been rescheduled to air from 1:37 a.m. to 2:07 a.m. Friday morning
  • Rob! has been rescheduled to air from 2:07 a.m. to 2:37 a.m.
  • Person of Interest has been rescheduled to air from 2:37 a.m. to 3:37 a.m.

Your best bet is to set your VCR or DVR for the period from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. to be sure you get your entire show.

Should the basketball game run past 10 p.m., WRAL-TV will join The Mentalist in progress.

Jeez people, get over it. WOLFPACK WINS!

As much as I like watching college basketball I am very disappointed in the fact that WRAL has 2 stations to choose from and they put basketball games on both. The lineup for tonight has been pushed and promoted which is why there is such an outcry at the fact that now none of your viewers can watch the shows they've been led to look forward to seeing tonight. Again very disappointed and poor planning on WRAL's part.

Extremely poor programming choice Mr. Hammel. Instead of telling your regular viewers to record your regular programming overnight, you should show your special programming on one of your other digital channels. Why anger your regular viewers by canceling regular programming? You can have the best of both worlds by showing your game on another digital channel. Instead, you've taken a win-win situation and turned it into a lot of angry viewers. Angry viewers = lower ratings. At a minimum use your social media presence to apologize once you see you've made the wrong choice. There are other alternatives, even now. By staying silent, you're just making more angry viewers. Remember, angry viewers = lower ratings = less money.

The NCSU game? Really? Time to stop watching wral. WTVD works fine for news etc!

I agree with boxtruck is back...

As a Wolfpack fan, I am pleased. You are in Wolfpack country. Get over it.

and LOL at setting your VCR.

Your kidding - the only good show on network TV, Big Bang Theory is delayed so the two NCSU Basketball fans can watch this worthless game. Why don't you delay the game instead

I agree with "original intent"s comment. The CBS programming should air in its normal time slots on WRAL2 (5.2), then move all the WRAL2 programming to 1:37 AM.

YES, Yes....When you own the lott the Wolfpackers play on, Everything else seems trivial.!!!

Why don't you just wait until it comes on in reuns after the new shows have done their first run through? I know I cry when I miss Rob Schneider.
