Reporter: 'We're freeeeee ... Thank God for tractors!'

Posted January 6, 2012

"We're freeeeee ... Thank God for tractors!"

WRAL reporter Tara Lynn just emailed that to our newsroom, along with a picture of a tractor pulling one of our trucks out of a ditch.

Tara and photographer Tom Normanly were in Edgecombe County, working on a story about a house fire, when they got stuck "in a very, very wet ditch," according to Tara.

"This guy drove by and offered to go get his tractor! Otherwise, we'd have to wait on a tow truck to come from Raleigh!!!" she said.

Thanks to the friendly tractor driver, Bobby Norris, for helping our news crew, and thanks to Tara for the pictures :)

And why would you otherwise "...have to wait on a tow truck to come from Raleigh!!!"? I'm sure there are more than a few a little closer to where they were in Edgecombe Co.

Whoops! The news makes the news! Glad Mr. Norris happened to be in the right place at the right time :)
