In honor of Veteran's Day, please join me in thanking the men and women of WRAL who have served and continue to serve our country:

  • Robert Carver, photographer – National Guard, 1987-1991, 2008-current
  • Rick Congleton, transmitter engineer – Army, 1991-1994
  • Chris Cormier, maintenance engineer – Army, 1987-1989
  • Jim Goodmon, president/CEO of Capitol Broadcasting Company – Navy, 1965-1968
  • Fred Kelly, engineer manager – Army, 1981-1991
  • Mike Moss, meteorologist – Air Force, 1980-1992; Air Force Reserves, 1992-present
  • Tony Patterson, maintenance engineer – Army, 1979-1987
  • Leonard Peebles, administrative assistant – Marines, 1967-1970
  • Paulie Saville, systems engineer – Navy, 1981-1994

    Since the military is less than one percent of the total population of this country, it looks like WRAL has more than their share of veterans.

    I just want to say God Bless all of the Veteran's Today and I thank you from my soul for the sacrifice you gave of your lives and time to allow me to keep my freedom.....I also want to say to those Veteran's who are in my immediate life....that I LOVE YOU ALL FROM THE DEPTHS OF MY HEART AND SOUL.....and to the MOST SPECIAL VETERAN IN MY LIFE......MY DADDY......You gave of your time and your life to protect me not only in our home, but even when you were away from us, you were always protecting us, loving us, and caring for us. My entire existance is because of you and the love you had for My Mommy and this Country.....I THANK GOD EACH AND EVERY DAY FOR THE SACRIFICE YOU GAVE FOR ME AND FOR THOSE WHO CAN BE PROUD TO BE CALLED THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.....GOD BLESS AND LOVE TO ALL ON THIS SPECIAL OF ALL DAYS.....HAPPY VETERANS DAY....and I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH DADDY!!!!!
