RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Museum of Art is hosting a distinct workout session this weekend that will be available for three days only.
The Museum Workouts, which start Saturday June 3, blend a choreographed physical workout with a guided museum tour for an incredibly interesting experience.

The event, hosted by the American Dance Festival, features prestigious instructors, including dancer and choreographer Monica Bill Barnes and her dancing partner Anna Bass.

As most good workouts do, the Museum Workout will keep you moving, officials said. Participants will dance, stretch and perform other choreographed movements as they visit NCMA works of art selected by collaborator Maira Kalman.

"The Museum Workout disrupts the normally contained museum environment, invigorating participants by creating a physical relationship to the art of the ages," organizers said.

Five classes are offered each day at 9 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Each session is limited to 15 people, so purchase tickets in advance ($32.25 per person) by calling the Duke University Box Office at 919-684-4444 or by visiting americandancefestival.org.
