Working parents juggle when winter weather closes schools

For those required to work no matter the weather, the recent run of snow days can create havoc.

CARY, N.C. — For those required to work no matter the weather, the recent run of snow days can create havoc.

Parents with school-age children must juggle childcare with work responsibilities, and short-notice days off just add to that stress. For some, it's all fun and games.

In Cary, Darren White spent three hours sledding with his children on Tuesday. He said he looks forward to the phone call from the Wake County Public School System.

"It means I get to stay home from work and play," he said.

But others have had about their fill of snow.

"I'm done with the snow," said Mike Stenke.
