Editor's Note: The charges against Travis Seth Tillman were dismissed on June 11, 2009.

Police on Thursday arrested an employee for allegedly taking more than $6,600 from a Goldsboro scrap-metal recycling plant.

Neil Servier, of Goldsboro Iron and Metal at 801 N. John St., reported to police on April 7 that Travis Seth Tillman, 34, had taken $6,685.50 from the business over five days.

Police issued four warrants against Tillman, of 205 S. Sycamore St. in Fremont, for obtaining property by false pretense.

Tillman was being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond Friday.

5 years in prison... that's a great idea. That will only cost the tax payers couple hundred thousand dollars. As an added benefit, when he gets out in 5 years he'll be completely reformed and highly employable.

Why would he take money to another recycling plant?

Because he did not have the brains to think otherwise. He should have to pay every single dime back plus face the consequence of losing his job and a little prison time of about 5 years.

He must have tried to sell it to another scrap metal facility.
