Woman wounded in Chatham home invasion

Posted October 19, 2010

— A 61-year-old woman was wounded early Wednesday during a home invasion near Pittsboro, the Chatham County Sheriff's Office said.

Two masked men broke into a home off N.C. Highway 87 shortly after 3 a.m. and confronted four people inside, authorities said. At least two shots were fired, and the woman was wounded in the foot.

She was taken to UNC Hospitals for treatment and was released.

The intruders fled the area in a vehicle, but the four occupants of the house were able to provide only sketchy descriptions of the intruders, authorities said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Chatham County Sheriff's Office at 919-542-2911.

..."Any time a stranger is in your house in the wee hours of the morning, deadly force is justified!NC Sunshine..."

You would think so, however...better check the law on that one...it is a little more complicated than that!!!

Anyone not living in my house ANY time of the day or night will be considered a target. After the 1st shot, considered a MOVING target.

If armed be sure you know if and when deadly force is justified. Be ready and pray it never comes to that.

If you could say what road off HWY 87, there may be someone in the area that seen or heard something..too bad that people are not armed and sleep setting up with the gun loaded

    Ignore Report abuse

You won't graduate writing like that.

It is saw not seen. It is also sitting up not setting up.

I would think better of someone attending UNC....

I guess the main question here to ponder is "are you prepared for someone that would harm your family or home if invaded"
