DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham woman wanted in connection with a fatal shooting was arrested early Wednesday in Virginia, police said.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force arrested Jamelia Jaunique Thomas in South Hill, Va., police said.

Thomas, 23, of North Roxboro Street, was charged Monday with murder in the Sept. 1 death of Jerry Wayne Morgan.

Morgan, 54, of Sidneys Way, died at Durham Regional Hospital a few hours after being shot on Cheek Road. Police said he had been working on a vehicle when a woman approached him, exchanged words with him and then shot him.

Thomas and Morgan knew each other, according to investigators.
