Woman wanted for questioning in Cumberland trucker assault

Cumberland County sheriff's detectives are searching for a Robeson County woman who is wanted for questioning in an assault last month of a long-haul truck driver.

WADE, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives are searching for a Robeson County woman who is wanted for questioning in an assault last month of a long-haul truck driver.

Deputies said Monday they are trying to find Lutina Oxendine, 38, whose last known address was listed as Lumber Bridge. She is known to frequent truck stops.

A passer-by found Wael Wael, of Jacksonville, Fla., lying in the median of Goldsboro Road near Interstate 95 in the early morning of May 2. The 46-year-old man was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with severe head trauma.

Wael has not improved and remains hospitalized, authorities said Monday.

Oxendine is described as Native American, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 120 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes, a tattoo of a rose on the left arm and a tattoo that reads “Lumbee Lady” on her right arm.
