37-year-old woman shot, killed in Durham
A 37-year-old woman became Durham's second homicide victim of 2016 on Monday afternoon, police said.
Posted — UpdatedAccording to investigators, Latonya Denise Morris, of Durham, was standing near the intersection of East Main Street and Elm Street at about 1:10 p.m. when someone in a passing blue Lincoln Navigator opened fire, police said. Morris was shot several times and died at a nearby hospital.
No charges have been filed, and no other details were released. Police said the shooting did not appear to be random.
