Woman shot during home break-in

— A man shot a woman in the foot during a home break-in on Raleigh Street Friday morning, Rocky Mount police said.

Witnesses told police that Ricky Gamble, 40, broke into a house at 917 N. Raleigh St. around 7:30 a.m. Gamble threatened Jeremy Walston, 44, with a handgun, then shot Crystal Boose, 25, police said.

Boose was being treated at Nash General Hospital.

Gamble has been arrested and will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon, and breaking-and-entering, police said.

    I used to live in RMT and yes, crime has gotten worse since we moved. Keep in mind most of these crimes you have been reading about are taking place in the worst sections of town, not just in random areas of RMT.

    What is UP with Rocky Mount these days? I think everybody should up and move out of that place. Seems like there's more crime there than elsewhere in NC (or we're just not hearing about it).
