Raleigh police arrested a teenager on Wednesday in connection to the death of a 13-year-old girl earlier in the week. According to the Raleigh Police Department, Mykia Daniel, an eighth-grader at Ligon Middle School, was shot and killed on Monday in a north Raleigh Apartment. Police said the investigation is ongoing and more information will be released at the appropriate time.

Cumberland County authorities on Thursday were investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at a recycling plant in Fayetteville. 

<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — Cumberland County authorities on Thursday were investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at a recycling plant in Fayetteville. 

Sheriff's detectives were called to Pratt Industries, at 3780 Owen Drive, at about 8:30 a.m. after an employee reported seeing a body lying in a pile of cardboard boxes. 

The partially decomposed body will be sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh for identification. 

No information about the woman's death was released, and authorities did not indicate whether they suspected foul play.
