— A woman tied up the employees of a jewelry store in Mebane on Monday morning before stealing an undisclosed amount of merchandise, police said.

The woman browsed around the Jared Vault store, at 4000 Arrowhead Blvd. in the Tanger Outlets shopping center, for a short while before pulling out a gun and ordering employees into a back room, police said. She used zip-ties to restrain them before robbing the store and leaving.

No one was injured during the robbery, which was reported shortly after 10:30 a.m.

Police said they believe the same woman was involved in similar robberies in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The FBI is assisting Mebane police in the investigation.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Mebane Police Department at 919-563-9031 or Alamance County Crime Stoppers at 336-229-7100.

The picture wasn't up when they first posted the story. No, that's not snow, it's concrete. This was at the Tanger Outlet Center. I'm not sure why the shrub looks like it has snow on it, but it was pretty frosty.

We were walking past the store just as the first policeman arrived on site. When you see an officer going into the door, drawing his weapon and identifying himself, you know it's real. We didn't see the woman run out, but quite a few officers responded. Glad that no one was hurt.
