Woman robbed at gunpoint in Burlington

Burlington police are searching for a man who stole a woman's purse at gunpoint as she was leaving the Dollar Tree store Sunday night.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Burlington police are searching for a man who stole a woman's purse at gunpoint as she was leaving the Dollar Tree store Sunday night.

Clementine Self, of Carborro, told police she was in the parking lot of the store on North Church Street when she was robbed near her car about 8:15 p.m.

She described the robber as a young Hispanic man, about 5 five 5 inches tall, 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue-hooded sweatshirt or jacket with white seams, a white T-shirt and a white bandana on his face.

The victim was not injured.
