A woman told Chatham County sheriff's deputies that she was walking in the wildlife observation area off of U.S. Highway 751 in northern Chatham County when she was assaulted.

<b>CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C.</b> — A woman told Chatham County sheriff's deputies that she was walking in the wildlife observation area off of U.S. Highway 751 in northern Chatham County when she was assaulted Tuesday.<br />

According to the woman, a naked man grabbed her and made sexual statements to her, then followed her after she broke away.<br />

Deputies responding to the woman's call arrested David Hardin, 47, of 103 Shaftsberry Court in Cary, and charged him with indecent exposure, assault on a female and sexual battery.

Hardin was being held in the Chatham County Jail on $100,000 secured bond. His next court appearance was set for June 10.
