Woman reports assault on Chapel Hill street

A woman told Chapel Hill police that she fought off a man who grabbed her from behind and forced her to the ground while walking home early Friday.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A woman told Chapel Hill police that a man assaulted her while she walking home along Pritchard Avenue around 2:40 a.m. Friday.

The woman said a man grabbed her from behind and forced her to the ground. Police said the man ran away when she fought back.

The man was described as in his early 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a slim build and short hair. He wore a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
