A woman told Chapel Hill police that she fought off a man who grabbed her from behind and forced her to the ground while walking home early Friday.

<b>CHAPEL HILL, N.C.</b> — A woman told Chapel Hill police that a man assaulted her while she walking home along Pritchard Avenue around 2:40 a.m. Friday.

The woman said a man grabbed her from behind and forced her to the ground. Police said the man ran away when she fought back.

The man was described as in his early 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a slim build and short hair. He wore a black T-shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the assault should call police Investigator D. Hunter at 919-968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515. Crime Stoppers offers rewards for information that helps solve felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
