ANGIER, N.C. — A 62-year-old woman was reported missing from a retirement home in Angier Monday morning.

Annie Langley wandered away from Primrose Villa Retirement Community, 431 Junny Road, police said.

Langley is described as a heavy-set black woman, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 240 pounds. She has brown eyes and short, silver hair. She was wearing sunglasses.

Anyone with information about Langley's whereabouts should call Harnett County dispatch at 910-893-9111.

In February, an 85-year-old woman who wandered away from Primrose Villa was also the subject of a Silver Alert. Carrie C. Evans was found dead in a ravine behind a plant, about three blocks away.

Primrose Villa scored 102 and 97.75 in state inspections this past spring, according to state Division of Health Service Regulation records.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
