Woman Pleads Guilty to Church Embezzlement
A Wake County woman pleaded guilty to stealing more than $170,000 from the church where she worked.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Wake County woman pleaded guilty to stealing more than $170,000 from the church where she worked.
Authorities said Anita Copeland paid more than $260,000 in restitution to Ridge Road Baptist Church, where she worked for nine years.
Copeland was arrested in February on charges of writing checks to herself using church money, authorities said.
