Woman Parachutes to Honor Her Father, Brother

Posted June 17, 2007

— To honor her father and brother for their military service, a local woman parachuted from the sky above Raeford Sunday morning.

Carol Boatman Jimenez wanted to perform the tandem jump in memory of her family.

Her brother, a Fort Bragg soldier, died from natural causes last year. Her father, a paratrooper, was wounded in battle. This was her first Father's Day without her dad.

Jimenez described the experience as quiet and peaceful.
