— A woman died Sunday morning and three others were injured in a three-vehicle wreck on Capital Boulevard near Old Buffaloe Road, police said.

Teresa Bordeoux, 47, was stopped in the left-turn lane of inbound Capital Boulevard just before 8:30 a.m., authorities said. She had two passengers in her car: Gary Bryant, 51, and Cassandra Carroll, 18.

Keosha Patton, 24, driving a Chrysler PT Cruiser, approached the intersection in the same direction. She changed lanes, but did not see Bordeoux’s Honda stopped there until she was directly behind it.

Patton's car rear-ended Bordeoux's Honda, pushing it diagonally into the intersection, according to police.

When the Honda was struck, it jumped the median, sideswiping a Pontiac traveling outbound driven by Sharde Jones, 19, authorities said. Jones was not injured.

Bordeoux was pronounced dead at the scene. Patton, Bryant and Carroll were transported to WakeMed for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Patton was charged with death by motor vehicle, speeding and failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, authorities said.

Please look at my comments or look at a map. There is a median to the right of the right turn lane. The car was not in the left turn lane.-seankelly15

They were all heading south on Cap blvd. Wral corrected the article.

I drove by it at 9:30am. I was a very gruesome scene.

Does it really matter? There was a wreck, a woman was needlessly killed due to the inability of another to pay attention to the road for one reason or another. End of story!

Inattentive drivers can be deadly! And cell phone use while driving is a chief culprit. Please everybody, please don't use your phones while you're driving. Imagine the guilt if you caused someone serious injury or death, in your car or another.

the details are a bit fuzzy but the police have an understanding of what happened and have charged a true criminal. I hope that Keosha Patton is in jail now and stays in jail a looong time. I wish that law enforcement could have got this bad driver off the road before she did this damage.

Whatcha bet she was talking on a cell phone and not paying attention? My son got rearended by a cell phone talker; only minor car damage and no injuries, thankfully.

AND this is exactly why i traded in my gas sipping civic 40mpg for a gas guzzling SUV-17mpg. until they OUTLAW ALL SUV's, I will have one because alot of others do- it is for self preservation... Yeah I know a bus can hit me and i'd be dead but a bigger vehicle increases your odds...
