RALEIGH, N.C. — A woman was killed Wednesday morning in a wreck involving a school bus and a car, Raleigh police said.

Police said a 2005 Dodge driven by Lana Awni Almashini, 25, of Flint Ridge Place in Raleigh, turned left on Atlantic Avenue and collided with a Wake County school bus driven by Octavius Lamar Smith, 22.

The impact pushed the car about 85 feet. Almashini died of her injuries, police said.

No students were on the bus at the time of the wreck.

Officers closed Atlantic Avenue between Spring Forest and Millbrook roads in north Raleigh for about four hours following the wreck.
