Woman injures hand in Raleigh bank deposit slot

A woman was being treated for serious injuries Thursday night after getting her hand stuck in a night deposit box at a downtown Raleigh bank, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A woman was being treated for serious injuries Thursday night after getting her hand stuck in a night deposit box at a downtown Raleigh bank, police said.

The unidentified woman was making a deposit at the Bank of America branch at 411 Fayetteville St. shortly before 5:30 p.m. when the machine closed on her hand. Investigators called it a freak accident.

She was taken to WakeMed for treatment of injuries to her hand. There was no word on her condition.
